A Dundee-based dental company has trimmed its losses in the first six months of the financial year as it looks ahead to overseas expansion.The Scotsman reported that 3D Diagnostic, the firm behind a handheld tooth decay detector, said that discussions over distribution agreements in North America were "well advanced". It also said that in the six months to December 31st, the company made a pre-tax loss of £478,000, compared with a shortfall of £695,000 in the same period 12 months prior to this. During this period 3D Diagnostic also raised £787,500 through a private placement of new shares. James Noble, non-executive chairman of 3D Diagnostic, said that during the next six months, the firm will be focussing on expansion in North America. "Successful assessment of the CarieScan PRO device has already taken place in Canada, with discussions there well advanced," he added. The CarieScan PRO device enables earlier and more accurate detection of caries lesions, which are not clearly visible to the human eye. ![]() |
